Application:
The MAHR aeration system is provided to assist the discharge
of material from the silo for the case where flow difficulties are
experienced, e.g. not free flowing but fluidizable dusty or powdery
bulk solids. The special construction of the aeration bottom allows
it to be used for homogenising.
Material:
Dished end or plate bottom: St 37 or 1.4301, 1.4541, 1.4571
Aeration cloth: Synthetics (Aeropertex), Sinter synthetics
or sinter metal (sinter bronze or VA) Sealing ring:
Rubber or Teflon (with higher operation temperatures)
Construction:
As support for the aeration bottom the plate bottom is utilised.
Connection to the silo is via a screwable flange. An Aeropertex
cloth stretches over the entire area of the aeration bottom, through
which the conditioned air or other gaseous substances are forced.
The aerated material is fed through a joining socket within the
aeration bottom. Even the very finest grains cannot pass through
the fabric. The Aeropertex fabrics consists of 100% Polyester and
does not absorb moisture. It does not rot and resists week acids,
alkaline and atmospheric corrosion. It will withstand permanent
temperatures of up to 160° C and up to 180° C for short
periods. Due to the admitted air, the material is self cleaning.
Depending on the bottom's size, the aerated air is split into one
or several segments. Especially for homogenising the separated and
segmented aeration of the surface is very important.
Procedure:
Air which is to be dry and free of oil is fed from an air supply
system (factory mains or a compressor) via the ventilating nozzles
into the air chamber of the bottom. This air floats through the
porous surface of the aerating covering into the stored material
within the silo or the pressure conveyer. It is not possible for
the material to go through the aerated cloth. The aerated material
passes through the outlet nozzles in the down-stream aggregate.
Operation
Data:
The operation data depends on the aerated material and the silo-height.
Gen-erally, 2-3 Nm3 dry and oil-less air per m2 aeration surface
per minute is nec-essary, while using a pressure of 2000 - 10000
mm water column (0,2-1 bar). Measurements: The aeration bottom can
be supplied in all common diameters. However, operating sizes are
generally between Ø 1000 mm and Ø 6600 mm.
